2023 Pride i Go Lite Carbon Fibre Electric Power Chair with Joystick Control and Airline Compliant Lithium Battery
The Pride i Go Lite is a work of art! Half the weight of most traditional folding electric wheelchairs, so this really can be lifted in and out of a car easily for transport, or used on a cruise ship, aeroplane or public transport, taking up very little space. When folded it's incredibly compact, but is strong, durable and solid, unlike cheaper imitations.
Despite the slender appearance and ultra lightweight design, this scooter is very stable and sturdy and can carry people up to 23 stone (135kg) and fits people of all sizes including those well over 6' tall.
The frame is made of carbon fibre, and is a work of art to look at, with all the benefits of this incredibly strong yet lightweight composite. If Formula 1 made wheelchairs, this would be it!
The power is via twin rear wheel 250w motors, with joystick control and adjustable speed settings for ease of use. Automatic electronic braking brings you to a halt whenever you release the joystick, and it is incredibly easy to drive with simple fingertip control. The joystick position can be adjusted forwards or backwards, and can be swapped for left or right handed users. Under the joystick is the charging port and also a USB so you can charge your phone or other devices on the go.
The airline compliant lithium Panasonic battery fits under the seat, can be removed easily for charging on or off the chair, and holds charge for weeks or months, giving you up to 6 miles on a single charge.
The battery is airline and cruise ship compliant being 288Wh (watt hours) so under the 300Wh limit. And at under 20kg the wheelchair is acceptable for coach travel etc.
The Panasonic battery has been regularly charged when not in use, in line with the manufacturer's guidance, and the battery is tested at 29.54v indicating 100% health. The batteries charge at 29.4v, so ideally should hold the same voltage. If they indicate 28v or below they are considered old and/or weaker, but this one holds charge at 29.54v which is maximum capacity and as good as when it was new.
It runs very well, is in very clean condition, and was always stored indoors. It was manufactured in 2023 so only a couple of years old. It has picked up a few minor marks from storage and transport (as they all invariably do) but it is all fully operational.
